Doctor of Choice
I work as an elective doctor in my practice. As an elective doctor (without a health insurance contract), the services provided cannot be charged directly to the respective health insurance company. For you as a patient, this means that you have to bear the costs of your visit yourself for the time being.
By submitting the issued fee note, however, you will receive a refund of approximately 80% of the tariff rate paid to a statutory health insurance physician. You will usually have to wait about 4-12 weeks before the costs can be refunded.
If the reimbursement of fees does not seem sufficient to you, you have the right to make an additional claim with your health insurance company.
Whether as an elective doctor or as a statutory health insurance physician: prescriptions, referrals, prescriptions and referrals are treated equally. This means that you have no additional effort if you get prescriptions and the like issued by me.
